Archbishop Michael J. Sheehan's Comments Regarding Pope's Ailing Health:

(Oct 1) "I love John Paul II dearly and he is in my prayers. He appointed me to be Bishop in Lubbock twenty years ago, Archbishop of Santa Fe after that and now Apostolic Administator of Phoenix. Just the two of us have visited a number of times in his private apartment and I love him deeply for his lifelong commitment to the Church and to the world. Even though his physical ailments appear serious, his mind is clear. He remains faithful to his pastoral leadership and to his God. "
