Biographical Note

The Presbyteral Council is one of the principal consultative groups, collaborating with the Bishop, as a type of senate in the government of the Diocese, and as representative of the Presbyterate, in the effective pastoral care of the Church of Phoenix (Cf. Canon 495.1). It consists of the Bishop and priests service the Diocese.

The Diocesan Pastoral Council is one of the principal consultative and advisory groups of the Diocese. Under the authority of the Bishop, the Council is composed of ordained, religious and lay members of the Diocese, who in response to their baptismal call, are selected in such a way as to represent the pluralistic character of the Diocese. The function of the Council is to study those matters which concern the pastoral works in the Diocese, and to propose practical conclusions concerning them (Canon 522-512).
