SUPPORT

Spiritual Services:

Plan and coordinate personal and pastoral visitations of support to the pastors, parish staff and community inside and outside of diocesan center. Each visit is prepared through planning and scheduling according to the pastor, then the other members of his parish team. The visits are usually scheduled for Sunday services, followed by scheduled meetings if needed or requested by the pastor or the designated team member.

 

Farm Worker Programs:

Work closely with parishes, agencies and diocesan offices related migrant programs. Evangelize and tend to the spiritual needs of the migrant farm workers and act effectively in defense of human dignity and human rights.

 

Vocations:

Actively continue to participate and assist with the implementation of vocations programs sensitive to the Hispanic culture and religious preparations; including exploration of options for Spanish-speaking men and women.

 

Traditions:

Continue to promote and preserve the traditions of popular religious devotion in the Hispanic community with such events as the celebration for the Virgin of Guadalupe, Quinceañeras, Posadas, etc.

 

Family Support for Immigration and Welfare-Reform Outreach:

The Office works to preserve family reunification as the cornerstone of our legal immigration system and defends our nation's traditions of protecting immigrants fleeing religious and political persecution with emphasis given to Mexico, Guatemala, and Latin American countries.
