Under the direction of the Director, provides the leadership to assist in taking care of everyday parish life/business and to insure the security of parish property at St. Francis Mission in Ak Chin and San Lucy Mission in Gila Bend. This position maintains a presence at the parish sites on a weekly basis, and works with parish leadership for the upkeep, repairs, and security of the church buildings; in the absence of a priest, arranges for and/or conducts Sunday Celebrations in the Absence of a Priest where scheduled by the Director and permitted by diocesan policy; meets monthly in an administrative role with parish and finance council leadership; visits, conducts, or arranges for Communion Services at the local care centers, hospitals and prisons/jails; works in collaboration with other Native American Ministry staff members and attends scheduled staff meetings; works in conjunction with the Religious Education Director to provide adult faith formation (R.C.I.A. and other sacramental catechesis and preparations (i.e. Baptismal and Marriage Preparation)); engages in ongoing professional formation; maintains a good working relationship with the other Native communities; must attend mandatory diocesan policy training for Safe Environment for all staff and volunteers.

Catholic Tuition Organization of the Diocese of Phoenix (CTODP)
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
SENIOR MANAGEMENT OPPORTUNITY: This is an excellent career opportunity to serve as a senior staff member at the Catholic Tuition Organization of the Diocese of Phoenix (CTODP), the State of Arizona’s largest provider of tuition scholarships which help low-income families attend Catholic schools.
This position requires an energetic, creative individual who is goal-oriented, able to handle multiple programs and deadlines, and able to meet aggressive fundraising goals and achieve measurable results on multiple campaigns annually. CTODP’s Director of Development must demonstrate sound judgment and maturity in decision-making, and work well independently as well as in team and group-driven environments.
With reasonable and helpful levels of guidance and boundaries, this person will have the opportunity to lead the organization’s corporate development plan and to play a major role in enhancing development activity at the field- and grassroots-level. Working closely with the Executive Director, the Director of Development will determine the top priorities and resources needed to achieve a more fully rounded development program maximizing participation in the ITC and CTC programs, Corporate Matching Gifts program and eventually expanding development avenues beyond simply tax credits.
RESPONSIBILE FOR:
• Executing a broad-based development plan encompassing both the Corporate (CTC) & Individual (ITC) Private Education Tax Credits by establishing, expanding and sustaining a comprehensive fundraising network across the Diocese of Phoenix
• Leading the Organization’s Corporate Tax-Redirect Program and managing the entire cultivation process, including research, prospect identification, contact management, solicitation, negotiation, securing tax-redirect contributions, appreciation efforts/events and ongoing engagement of partners
• Leading field-based efforts to promote ITC and CTC programs at parishes, schools and with strategic partners throughout the diocese, including communicating with and supporting local leadership, training volunteer-led committees, developing tailored campaign goals/objectives, and ensuring that local campaign strategies are implemented to boost participation levels and increase scholarship funds available
• Building partnerships with CPAs, corporate/individual tax planners, corporate attorneys, financial planners to raise awareness and increase referral opportunities
• Interfacing with the Diocese of Phoenix and the public-at-large, serving as a “brand ambassador” and a primary public relations person for the Organization
KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION REQUIRED:
• Passion for the value of a Catholic education and its impact on communities at large
• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years experience in related non-profit development/fundraising positions or their equivalent
• Fundamental understanding of marketing, communications and public relations
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others
• Respect for/adherence to the Roman Catholic Church’s social teachings, including its commitment to education, social justice and a “preferential option for the poor”
• Familiarity with the leadership structure and operational protocols of the Roman Catholic Church and the Diocese of Phoenix, including roles of clergy and laity at the parish and school levels; comfortable working in a faith-oriented environment
• Strong leadership traits and motivational skills; experience in grass-roots organizing, including knowledge of the principles of volunteer management and training

• Working knowledge of Information Technology related software, hardware, and support systems including Windows, MS Office, and donor-database operations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position collaborates with a Development Associate who conducts research assistance. Limited administrative support is provided for major projects and events.
