Parental Consent

Pro-life legislators were thrilled today by your incredible response to requests for phone calls, e-mails and petitions in support of SB-1296, parental consent for abortion. (The old SB-1238 died last week, so the new bill number is SB-1296).

Close to 400 supporters packed the hearing room yesterday morning as the House Government Reform Committee, then the Rules Committee, gave approval to SB-1296. Then, at a press conference on the Capitol mall, House Speaker Jeff Groscostwas presented with the first half of more than 12,000 signatures received in support of parental consent - collected by you in just two days!

This is an amazing outpouring, given that it was undertaken with no planning and without any formal distribution and collection network.
