The Marriage and Respect Life Office of the Diocese of Phoenix is part of the Education and Evangelization Division, tasked with clear teaching and promotion of the doctrines of the Catholic Church and with reaching our culture with the beauty, truth and goodness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Within this broader mission, the Office of Marriage and Respect Life Issues is tasked with:
• Training for Parish Marriage Preparation Facilitators/Coordinators
• Marriage Preparation
• Marriage Enrichment
• Sanctity of Life Presentations and Materials
• Men’s and Women’s Spirituality
Our office is founded on the fact that all human persons are created in the image and likeness of God and therefore have a dignity that is to be respected and nurtured in every stage of life. We provide support and encouragement to married couples as well as those who work to promote the cause of life in the Diocese of Phoenix. We are guided by the exhortation of our late John Paul II:
"It is necessary to go back to seeing the family as the sanctuary of life. The family (based on marriage) is indeed sacred: it is the place in which life — the gift of God — can be properly welcomed and protected against the many attacks to which it is exposed, and can develop in accordance with what constitutes authentic human growth. In the face of the so-called culture of death, the family is the heart of the culture of life."
