The Annual Diocesan Sanctity of Life Appeal

Cooperating with Virtue Media to Promote a Culture of Life

Using funds from the reinstated Sanctity of Life Appeal special collection taken up last October, our office worked with VirtueMedia to purchase air time for more than 2,000 television commercials in Spanish and English on multiple channels in our diocesan area.  These commercials have been running since January of 2007.  The results have surpassed any of our forecasts.  Since January:

• More than 700 calls per month have come in to the 1-800 number seeking pregnancy help
• If even half of these women choose life, for their babies, this means lives are being saved for less than $42 each!
• More than 350 calls per month have come in for post-abortion healing and counseling.
• 98% of the homes in the Valley and Northern Arizona are receiving positive pro-life messages an average of 22.5 times each
• Our pro-life women's clinics are reporting large surges in clients during the weeks commercials are running.
• Five other American dioceses are exploring a similar outreach or have already planned to

VirtueMedia is a non-profit organization dedicated to producing and distributing high quality and positive commercials which uphold the sanctity of human life.  It began in Phoenix in 1998 and has since blossomed nationally.
