Old Business
Microphone and Sound System – Greg Heddens will continue to upgrade the system throughout the next year.
Manufactured Classroom - Still looking into acquiring the new classroom/building.
Painting of Mary and the Angel Gabriel – Mary has sent photos to the art gallery and is waiting for any further news from them.
Hall Rental – Janeen gave the Hall Renal Policy which was adopted by St. Catherine’s last year. This is for review and further discussion.
New Business
Copy Machine - Fr. Fred presented costs to upgrade our current copy machine. Copy Systems has a “lease” and/or “purchase” program which would suit our growing needs. After review of each program Verne motioned to accept the “lease” program of the Panasonic Digital Imager. Dennis seconded the motion - all were in favor.
2004 Long Range Planning – Janeen gave a handout to each Council Member for input regarding long range planning. It was asked that each member review and bring to the next Finance meeting their ideas for the future of St. Catherine’s.
Verne made a motion to adjourn at 7:05pm. Dennis seconded.
Janeen gave a short prayer service regarding our Lenten call as a Finance Council. We are challenged to be a “visible” entity for the parish community. Since we are the stewards, the caretakers of the financial donations given to this church, we must also ask what it is that we are called to do with these gifts. We spend 1 - 1 ˝ hrs. in a meeting - should we not spend the same time in prayer? It was agreed that we would change our day and time for the Finance Council meeting in order for us to gather in prayer and then gather for our monthly meeting. Due to the Holy Week schedule our next Finance Council meeting will be - Monday April 5th beginning with Mass at 5:30pm.
Future Finance Council meetings will be the 2nd Thursday of each month beginning with Mass at 5:30pm.
Respectfully Submitted by, Janeen Oquist, Recorder |
