The Catechumenate or
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and children (RCIC) is the process through which
people
become full members of the Roman Catholic Church. The process respects the
ongoing experience of conversion in each person’s life. The Rite of Christian
Initiation program is designed to
provide the time, support and knowledge needed to make a free and informed
decision concerning membership in the Catholic Church. Specifically, those who
have not been baptized or who have been baptized in another Christian
denomination are welcome to participate. The process could also be
helpful for baptized Catholics who have not been active members of the church
for an extended period of time.
Anyone interested in
learning more about the Rite of Christian Initiation for either adults or
children should contact Deacon John at the parish office. |
