Christian Initiation of Children of Catechetical Age
The Christian
Initiation of Children of Catechetical Age (CICCA)
or (RCIC) was designed for children from the catechetical age of approximately seven years old and extends to the age of seventeen. These children and teenagers seek to complete their initiation into the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation. Most young people in the process range from 5th grade to 12th grade, placement in this program versus religious education is closely reviewed by coordinators of both. This provides your child with his or her best religious foundation.
The formation of RCIC was modeled after RCIA and provides a means of conversion for those children who are unbaptized and interested in becoming Catholic; as well as those who have been baptized but have not received the other Sacraments of Initiation. They, along with their families, are invited on a unique journey of faith toward full communion with the Catholic Church.
