The purpose of the Pro-Life Ministry is to
educate parishioners and be actively involved in promoting life issues initiated
by the ministry New members are very welcome and help is always needed.
We're a group of volunteers
who try to keep the parish informed on life issues. Every January we invite the members of
the parish to spiritually adopt a baby in danger of abortion. Those
who wish to do this fill out a pledge naming the baby and place their pledge
in the cradle we'll keep in the sanctuary for the next 9 months.
And they promise to pray for their spiritually adopted baby every day to
bring the baby safely through to term. We encourage them to use Bishop
Sheen's Pro Life Prayer:
Jesus,
Mary and Joseph,
I love
you very much.
I beg
you to save the life of the unborn baby
whom
I have spiritually adopted
and
who is in danger of abortion.
We also lead pro-life
prayers at the First Friday's adoration from 5 to 5:30 p.m. after which
we have our meeting.
Pro-life is more
to us than symbolic actions, prayers and meetings. On the fourth
Sunday of the month, we put toss baskets at both entrances to the church
and use the money we collect for the Pregnancy Crisis Center in Kingman
(we send them $200 a month) and for pro-life work in our own area.
