During the few short years Peter was on earth, he touched the hearts of many people.

This is most evident in Peter’s academic and religious community:

• as an Altar boy and active parishioner at St. Jerome’s Parish,

• as a classmate and friend to students at Bourgade Catholic High School

• as an Honor student and Valedictorian of the Class of 1984, Bourgade Catholic High School,

• as a student on a National Merit Scholarship while attending Arizona State University.

In memory of Peter and his academic excellence, in 1994 an endowment was started in his name. A scholarship is awarded annually to a student at Bourgade Catholic High School who characterizes the same academic excellence that Peter did. Additional monies added to the endowment will increase the value of the annual endowment.

Your gift to support the Peter van Leeuwen Endowment will give the gift of Catholic education. In addition, your gift will:

The Peter van Leeuwen Endowment began as a $100 Book Scholarship and as the endowment has grown, it is now a $1,000 tuition scholarship. This year, and for the next four years, with matching funds, two $1,000 scholarships will be given. Your gift to Peter’s endowment will ensure his legacy of academic excellence to deserving Bourgade Catholic students.
