Interested in Marketing Christ the King School?:  The Education Commission is looking for individuals who would be interested in serving on a Recruitment/Marketing Committee.  We are seeking interested individuals from the school and parish communities to work with the Education Commission to assist in such tasks as advertising, promoting, recruiting, and marketing our school “product” to the “public” – including members of the larger community (parishioners, neighborhood, business community alumni, etc) who can play a vital part in the school.  We anticipate that the Committee will initially formulate a Strategic Recruitment/Marketing Plan for the school.  If you feel called to this ministry, please email Julie Rickli @ micwilmat@aol.com  for more information.

Stewardship Information:  To be considered a Stewardship family and receive a continuing tuition discount, you must renew your Stewardship Covenant annually.  Covenant forms were mailed to all registered parishioners over the last few weeks.  Please take time to prayerfully consider your commitment to stewardship, and return your covenant form promptly.  If you have not yet received a covenant form, or if you have misplaced yours, please stop by the parish office for a new one.

News From The Parent Association:

            P. A. Meeting -  The next meeting will be April 8th at 8am with a Rosary to follow in the Church.  Please review the proposed by-law changes (link above). Discussion will be at the April meeting with voting at the May meeting.

WISK Field Update:  Our field of dreams is finally a reality!!  The contest that CTK won last year thanks to many, many families that helped collect Wisk points has finally been awarded.  The $10,000 that was won was used to put in a new composite material in the infield that will accommodate baseball and softball.  Special thanks to all the great dads who helped this all come together:  Mike Wirth, Mark Détente, David Malkou.  A special thanks to John Wozny for putting together the scope of work and a HUGE THANK YOU to John Rickli for working with all the contractors.

Frys/Bashas/Safeway:  It's that time of year to relink your Fry's, Bashas' and Safeway frequent shopper cards so that Christ the King earns money every time you shop!! It is so easy and takes only a minute to register.  If you have any questions, call Mendy at 480-844-4462.

Bashas- Next time you are shopping, ask the cashier to link your card to Christ the King.  Our ID code is 23106.  That is all the cashier will need to link you.  Share our code with family and friends to increase the earnings for Christ the King!

It's Never Too Early To Start Thinking About CTODP:  Award letters will be coming home shortly, and again this year, we were able to provide financial assistance for anyone who qualified, and will be providing a generous amount for each student who applied based on fund availability.  We can even do better, and the more people who participate, the larger the fund availability grows each year.  Please start talking to your family, friends, and coworkers about making a contribution to CTODP and supporting CTK.  It costs nothing to redirect tax money in support of Catholic Education, and helps keep your tuition manageable.  For more information, contact Mendy Bayda at (480)844-4462, or stop by the school office to pick up some CTODP flyers to hand out to everyone you know!

Christ The King Endowment Fund:  Did you know there is an endowment that provides college scholarships to Christ the King parishioners only?  The Charles Passe Endowment Fund Scholarship Program provides scholarships for Christ the King parishioners who desire an education from vocational, trade and technology schools.  For more information, pick up a flyer outside the parish office.

                                           ITBS Test Scores

Christ the King takes the IOWA Standardized test each year.  This test compares our students with other students throughout the United States that also take this particular test.  Keep in mind that most public school students in Arizona take the AIMS test and not necessarily this particular test.  This test is also a test that allows us to compare our students from year to year so we can monitor their progress.
As you look over the scores you will see that the students from CTK have increased the grade equivalency over the past few years.  You will notice that in some areas the student scores drop from one year to the next.  However, if you look at the grade equivalency, you will see that is increasing, meaning that the students are in fact continuing to progress.
When you see a percentile score such as 76 this means that if 100 students of the same age were in a room, 24 of those students would have scored better than our student, and 75 would have scored worse than our student.

ABSENTEE LINE: We are asking all parents to use our Absentee Line 844-4481 when your child will be out ill or tardy.  This line is an answering machine, but the office checks it regularly and would appreciate your cooperation in this matter.  Thanks.

FAMILY ENVELOPES: In order to keep parents informed, a “Family Envelope” is sent home on Friday.  All parents are asked to read the information contained in the envelope, sign the envelope, and return it to school the following Monday.  Family envelopes are sent home with the oldest child in each family.  If a family envelope is lost, there will be a $1 replacement fee charged.

CTODP - Do you want to pay out less money for tuition? The answer is for you to participate in the tax credit program. You can direct your state tax money back into your pocket. It is free money and every dime goes into the reduction of your tuition payments. Every school family should participate. If you don’t participate, you are negatively affecting every school family that does participate. Their participation reduces your tuition.  Just think how much more you could reduce your tuition payment if every school family participated and could get five or more of their friends and relatives to participate. FREE TUITION!
