St. Gregory Preschool

St. Gregory's Preschool has expanded. Two years ago we started our program with one class of 18 students and now we have two PreKindergarten classes ( 4 year olds) and one Rising Fours class (3.6 years old). Our PreK teachers are Mrs. Rebecca Mosher  and Ms. Meghan Melcher. Our Rising Fours teacher is Mrs. Martinez. We have two wonderful teacher aides, Mr. Anthony Mosher and Mrs. Margaret Lopez.

Each day we are busy at work and play. We started the year out learning our Pledge of Allegiance, our daily prayers, the school mission statement and school and classroom rules. We anxiously waited for the day to join the student body at assembly.  By October we were ready to go.

In October we had our first performance as a class. We entertained everyone at our Fall Festival.  Our families were so very proud of us with our bright shining faces and beautiful voices.

November came along and we prepared for Thanksgiving. Each class had their own Thanksgiving celebration. Pre K 1 had a Stone Soup Supper.  They searched high and low for the perfect stone. Even after we found the right stone, Mrs. Mosher was still receiving them from the children.  Mrs. Martinez’s Rising Fours had a Thanksgiving feast from egg rolls to tamales. What wonderful diversity. Ms. Melcher’s class had a traditional turkey dinner.

December was an exciting month. We all prepared for our all school Christmas program. The little preschool angels started the program with a beautiful rendition of Silent Night.

As they say a picture paints a thousand words. They also did an encore presentation for our Senior Citizens luncheon.

Mrs. Mosher’s class  painted a beautiful Advent banner  for Andre House and also collected their outgrown jackets and clothing to send to the less fortunate.

January has arrived and we are ready to learn again. We are working hard on our letters and numbers and already talking about being in Kindergarten.

We have a lot to look forward to: Open House (Jan. 30), Book Fair, Preschool/Kindergarten Roundup (Feb. 11) & Jogathon (we need to beat Fr. John again).
