In
Religion, the children are reviewing in their book and talking about Mary, and
her importance in their faith.
The
children are beginning their last unit in their reader.
This unit theme is Homes. The children are also working in their practice
book reviewing nouns, verbs, and adjectives.
Phonics
is concentrating on blends and of course those long vowel sounds and different
spellings for them. Phonics
always reviews the consonants and short vowels.
This
week in the math book the children have been studying measurement, doing lessons
using a ruler to measure inches and centimeters.
Tomorrow the lesson will be on fractions and weight.
The children continue to study math facts in addition and subtraction to
15.
Our
Science unit on the five senses was
completed on Monday. Ask your
children about the graham cracker experiment.
Finally, the reading race came to a close the first week of May. All students received a ribbon for participation. Five of the girls received certificates in addition for reading more than one hundred books. Our winner, who read over two hundred books received a blue ribbon award.
Sincerely,
Cindy Chlarson
