The
7th grade has been very busy since Christmas vacation!
Take a look at what’s going on:
Math:
We’ve been
learning about working with positive and negative numbers.
Next we’ll be working on probability and statistics.
This will also include various types of graphing.
Science:
As we continue our exploration of Life Science, we’ve learned all about
living organisms and what makes things grow.
We even grew bread mold. It
was truly disgusting, but we found that mold grows in many different
colors. We’re now moving
on to viruses/bacteria and protists/fungi.
Language
Arts: Mrs.
Hunthausen has been keeping us busy with lots of reading and writing.
We’ve been learning about the 6+1 Traits of writing and are reading
“To Kill a Mockingbird.”
Social
Studies: Again,
Mrs. Hunthausen keeps us busy with American History.
She’s been having us think about the future and had us make models of
our own “future cities.” Many
classes judged our work and we’re waiting to find out the results.
Religion: We are continuing to learn about the teachings of the Catholic Church. We’ve recently covered reasons for the proof of God, the Creation Story from Genesis, and Original Sin. We’re now beginning to talk about Jesus and his life. And don’t forget our service hours. We are all serving at least 10 hours each quarter in our communities.
