The Catholic Sun, as the official source of news and information for the Diocese of Phoenix , share in the mission of evangelizing the Catholic faithful, under the direction of the bishop, by providing news, information, education, a forum for discussion and guidance in matters of faith, morals and spiritual life.

The Catholic Sun will use tools at our disposal, including the newspaper and its Web site to:

Support and defend the dignity of human live, marriage and freedom of conscience.
Uphold truth and accuracy in reporting.
Encourage evangelization, including individual faith development and a call to holiness.
Recognize the multicultural background of the Diocese of Phoenix and our connection beyond the diocese.
Promote stewardship as grateful disciples’ response to God’s gifts.
Recognize the role of the Catholic Church to engage and heal contemporary culture.
