Vocation Story

I began discernment for the priesthood in 2002 after being inspired by a friend who was discerning being a religious sister. After eight months, I "stopped" and "decided" that I was going to be open to the vocation of marriage.

I re-entered discernment for the seminary in 2004, this time without fear or hesitation and with a great sense of peace. I visited a religious order in November of 2004, which helped me to heal and gain clarity for God's will in my life.

When I returned to Phoenix, the doors to discerning the diocesan priesthood began to open.
