Vocation Story

You ever sit there in class or at work and think to yourself, "I'm so bored.
I know life has so much meaning, but I'm not feeling it here."  And then you
get another feeling while in prayer or at church in which you think to
yourself, "I love being in prayer.  I love God. I love to serve.  Lord, what
are you calling me to do?"  Those stirrings for me have led to the diocesan
priesthood.

The path wasn't straight, although it never is with us.  After four great
years at Arizona State University I decided to follow my degree in
electrical engineering to Motorola.  There I asked myself, "what importance
does this work have in the big picture?"  I followed God's call next to St.
Theresa Parish where I went deeper into service as a youth minister.  As I
prayed, worked, dated, prayed, played, got to know myself more, and prayed,
I realized that I wanted to give all for God and for me that meant going to
seminary to find out if God was calling me to be one of His priests.

After two years in the seminary, I've never felt so joyful, at peace, and so
excited about being a priest.  I continue each day of the journey praying
for the humility and grace to get through the next day.  God is so good and
desires each of us to be happy.  Follow the stirrings of your heart.
