the Diocesan Center. She is the Claims Risk Manager for the Diocese.

Whenever
going on a trip car/van rental please give 3-5 days notice if at
all possible. A Copy of Agreement is needed from the Retreat
Center. It tells what
insurance is required. (Some Parish Managers handle this). The Agreement
spells out who is responsible. ό
Transporting
Minors 10-15 person vans are ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED!
The big ones tip & roll do not meet Federal Safety
Standards. Mini-van or Suburban is okay or chartered bus. ό
Each
parish needs to know of what events are happening on their premises.

Mexico
If you rent transportation, Certificate of Insurance is needed. Call
Kathy if you are not sure. Pay the extra liability insurance if it is
offered. ό
Worldwide
travel insurance is offered $14 per person helicopter will transport
back to US if an emergency & you can speak to an English speaking
person. ό
LIFETEEN
Insurance is separate from Diocese Insurance. If LIFETEEN has a rally
downtown- their responsible. If
a rally is held at parish Diocese if responsible. ό Ropes course is banned due to significant claims. The diocese will not issue.
Teens
driving to activities: Permission
slips are needed especially if teens carpool. Forms need to state that
the Parish/Diocese is not providing transportation. Need to put in
writing what the activity is and get parent(s) signature Each event needs a permission slip (Mike Haran Lawyer) Question
Going to get something to eat after softball game (team). Seen
as a team gives sanction as diocese event.
Need to inform parents to pickup kids after game.
It is too much of an accounting problem. Alternative is to make
it a plan and make permission slip.
